So anyway, it’s really funny that in one week I’ve had two of the questions that make me laugh come up.  Yesterday’s blog was addressed the question, “Why doesn’t everyone use a PEO?”  So yesterday I started participating in a business owner’s roundtable where we discuss issues that relate to business issues from an ownership perspective. 

So we start going around doing our introductions and after I did my introduction and then went into an explanation of what a Professional Employer Organization does, the individual next to me looks at me and says “Where have you been?”  I need you to help me…. So if you read yesterday’s PEO Blog you know I typically name situations.  I looked at the individual and said, you’re a 10 percenter!

Why doesn’t everyone use a PEO?  Every time someone asks me that question it makes me laugh. I’ve gotten to the point where I just say it’s all about the light bulb.

It happened again last week, a new client asked me “Why doesn’t everyone use a PEO – Professional Employer Organization?  I chuckled and said, it’s all about the light bulb.  On the back of my business card I have this message…. “Professional Employer Organizations are simply a better way to manage employment.  If you have employees, we help you consolidate the processes required to manage them… including Human Resources, Workers Compensation, Benefits, Payroll and more.  Our concept shares technology, expertise, and services all while taking advantage of pooled purchasing power.  We create employment practices and benefit offerings designed to attract and retain the best employees.”  That’s it, simple and to the point.

The blog has one primary objective, which is to educate businesses on why utilizing the services of a quality PEO is one of the best decisions a business owner can make.

Part of the process is to attempt to get the members of the Professional Employer Organization Industry to join in our efforts to communicate the message.  It doesn’t matter if you are an owner, payroll processor, customer service representative, sales person, safety engineer….everyone needs to participate in educating the business community as to what a PEO is, and how businesses can benefit from using a quality PEO.
